GARDEN JOURNAL

I'm finally getting around to writing! Perhaps that's due to the rain and snow. Either way, it's a nice break!

It has been amazing to me to see the interest in our community garden. What would motivate ten, eleven and twelve year old boys to hustle over to my house nearly every day after school and ask to help with the garden!?! They have done such a great job shoveling out pathways, smoothing planting beds, chucking rocks in and out of the truck, laying down straw in the pathways, and having a blast doing all of it.

A lot of work has been done in the sun, but also in the cold, and even some in the rain.

We have had people referred to us by the court system to put in community hours. What a blessing that has been in many different ways.

Community businesses have helped support our project. Individuals have also helped secure some of the bigger items we have needed.

This is a wonderful project to be a part of. I hope it continues to grow and expand and bless many, many lives!
